If I could take you with me,
I would.
If you ever forget me,
it's okay because maybe
you'll remember
the sunset
the day we met
and that's something,
right?

I don't know if I'll ever get the chance
to say hello again
once we say goodbye,
but I hope you'll grace me with your smile
at least once
after I'm gone.
And if you forget to smile to me,
then I hope whoever sees it
is happy.

If you're worried I'll forget you,
just remember,
that every person I've ever met
in Colorado,
Nevada,
New Jersey,
Alaska,
and Chicago
is still stored in my memories.

And if I'm in some horrific
accident and it wipes my mind,
then find comfort in the idea that
I'd never forget you on purpose.

Here it is,
farewell my dear.

Don't ever stop being strong.

I think I'll love you
even more than I loved the sunset
the night we met.
